The nature of things – old masters, young masters

Upcycling workshop with Juli Gudehus as part of the exhibition

»Rose is a rosy is a rosary is a grocery is a waitrose« Loosely based on Gertrude Stein, here you will make recyclables blossom.

In this workshop, we cut waste. We crunch it, punch it and squeeze it. And then we spear it. Rests of our consumer world experience a new start as small works of art. Conversations about our everyday life, the components of which we recognize here, accompany our work. Soon it turns out that our latent product design and brand knowledge far outweighs the knowledge of herbs, flowers and trees for most of us. At the same time, we become aware of how much we have internalized the construction principles of plants and how many design details seem to be borrowed from nature.
