“Toward the Light” – Cornelia Weber

09:00 Uhr - 17:30 Uhr

Photo exhibition by Cornelia Weber

The photography of Cornelia Weber no longer presents flowers merely as decorative elements, but as a means of engaging with issues such as the consequences of the human-made climate crisis and the evolving values within our society.

In 2019, she began cultivating the flowers she used in her photographic work. Being closely involved with nature’s cycles of growth and decay, the labor-intensive process of nurturing plants, and the deep satisfaction that comes from watching seeds one has sown thrive, brought new artistic inspiration to her floral photography.

About the artist

Cornelia Weber was born in Rostock, a city on the Baltic coast of Germany. She studied Journalism, Theatre Studies, and Psychology at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, where she has lived and worked ever since.

Her passion for photography was sparked early on by an improvised darkroom in the attic of her parents’ home. As a teenager, she began experimenting with an analog SLR camera and developing her photographs, laying the foundation for her creative journey.

After completing her studies, she initially worked in publishing before moving on to a career as a freelance journalist and photographer. For many years, she produced photo series for both German and international interior and lifestyle magazines. I
