Large pond, marsh and siltation zone

The large pond ends in the west in a siltation zone, which is adjoined by several bog pools with an abundance of lush aquatic and marsh plants. It is a valuable habitat for dragonflies, fish, amphibians and waterfowl.
Various species of waterfowl can be encountered at the large pond, and in the mornings also on the visitor paths and roadsides. Now and then a dragonfly or a water turtle can be spotted at the edge of the pond. In May, the pond frogs make themselves loudly heard.
