Thanksgiving – Fruit, Berries and Nuts
Special exhibition in the winter hall, in cooperation with TAGWERK Förderverein eG
This year’s exhibition focuses on berries, nuts and fruit! The harvest festival exhibition whets your appetite for the end of summer and autum. It showcases the treasures of regional crops. This year, the focus is on fruits from the rose family, such as apples, pears and quinces, complemented by selected berries and nuts.
Together with TAGWERK Förderverein eG, we are presenting the fruits of our homeland in the autumnally decorated Winter hall. Over 100 regional apple varieties, including many that have been almost forgotten, can be admired and some of them tasted.
At the interactive knowledge table, visitors young and old can guess, feel and marvel: which fruit belongs to which flower? Which fruits come from rose plants? And which nut-like fruit is hidden in the touch box?
If you want to know which variety of apple grows in your own garden, simply bring your harvest with you: the renowned pomologist Georg Loferer will be on site during the last weekend of the exhibition to provide expert information. (The exact date will be announced shortly.)
