Spring Garden
The delicate but very colorful spring garden, not far from the “hortus conclusus”, literally explodes in spring. Already in late winter, a wide variety of witch hazel shrubs bloom here.
Bulbous plants among other early-flowering shrubs, such as highly fragrant snowball varieties, make this area a popular part of the garden, especially in April. Rare wild tulips, irises and daffodils are in bloom everywhere in April. The delicate purple veil of Crocus tommasinianus lies over the adjacent meadows in March.
