Iris – flowers of the rainbow

Special exhibition: cut flowers in the winter hall | in co-operation with the specialist group Iris of the Gesellschaft der Staudenfreunde e. V.

Irises are very popular both as garden plants and as cut flowers. Around 50,000 different iris varieties are registered worldwide today and several hundred new varieties are added every year. The special exhibition “Irises – Flowers of the Rainbow” offers a small insight into this diversity.

Current information: Safety barriers of the iris garden

Dear visitors,

Roof maintenance work is required on the Botanical Institute building. Unfortunately, the iris garden must therefore be closed. To protect against falling objects and to ensure your safety for the duration of the work, barriers will be erected around the building. The maintenance work will begin shortly and, depending on the weather, will be completed in the course of the summer.
