Growing – Blooming – Decaying | Sculptures by Martin Lorenz

Thursday, 11. May 2023 - Tuesday, 3. October 2023

More than twenty abstract, vertically aligned infructescencesin monochrome white represent a minimalistic landscape in a state of growing, blooming and decaying. The monochrome white and the abstract forms of the sculpture form a strong contrast to the natural surroundings of the botanical garden.

The artist is interested in nature in all its different facets. Materials from nature are supplemented, revised or redesigned. Natural and human-influenced changes also influence the work.

Since completing his studies at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe, Lorenz has regularly taken part in exhibitions in Germany and abroad. The artist’s works are in public and private collections.

About the artist

Lorenz lives in Landau in the Palatinate. He is married to goldsmith Pilar Carim Ferrus. Both have their studios in St. Martin, Palatinate.
