Oil painting by Anette Koch

“There I become a bee myself”.

With brush and oil paint Anette Koch comes close to the floral motifs and puts small scene big on the stage.

In search of colors Anette Koch found her motive in the front garden and flower pot. With the camera, she gets close to flowers and uses these photo templates to recompose them and transform them into large formats with meticulously executed oil paintings.

The Munich-based painter uses mathematical elements such as circular form and line to explore architecture, rhythm and internal structures in plants, as well as light phenomena that dissolve forms into color planes.

The images celebrate the power and beauty of flora, which surrounds in many places, but often eludes perception by its smallness and apparent banality. A miracle, daily experienceable, if only it is allowed.
